Bodrum is a peninsula diving into the meeting point of Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Bodrum is a luxurious vacation resort in Türkiye and has the typical Turkish charm along with good options for both seaside fun and cultural tourism.

The site of Bodrum is on the ancient city of Halicarnassus famous for the "Mausoleum of Halicarnassus", one of the original seven wonders of the world. Unfortunately, due to earthquakes in dark ages, the structure hasn't survived and stays in ruins today. In the Bodrum Harbor is the Castle of St Peter, built by Rhodes order of Knights Hospitaller. It is one of the best preserved of its kind in the world and now, converted into an underwater archeology museum. Under no circumstances should a visit to these sights be passed.

Perhaps the biggest appeal of Bodrum is the Marina that has been attracting both Turkish and foreign yacht owners for their beach holiday. As a result, Bodrum is shaped to be the most luxurious spot in Turkish coasts. There are many exquisite resorts and hotels, beachside bars and restaurants and every kind of beach fun you can imagine. The soft sands and blue waters possess the top qualities of Mediterranean and in some areas, are suitable for various activities such as windsurfing or diving. The area is also suitable for scuba diving and snorkeling, both highly recommended and will reveal you a spectacular underwater world of unique rock formations and aquatic life; reefs, caves, colorful natural sponges, small fish and other sea creatures.

If you're looking for a quieter holiday, just do a bit of exploring and you'll come across hidden away quiet bays with cozy guest houses and motels. That's never a bad choice. The on land enviroment, a lush green wrapping blanket for mountains is never far away to your hotel. These locales are irresistible for campers and hikers.

The town of Bodrum is at the peak of cuteness with white sugar cube style houses, narrow winding streets with small shops and boutiques on every corner. While we're at it, don't miss the excellent shopping opportunities for traditional items, arts, jewelery and embroidery, wood and metal craftings, kilims and rugs. Especially clothes shopping is recommended as you'll find best quality in the world with fairly reasonable prices, just don't forget haggling.

The restaurants mostly feature mouthwatering Aegean cuisine, rich with vegetables, olive oil and authentic sauces. General Turkish cuisine and seafood options are plentiful and as always, well priced with rather good quality. Travelers also have plenty of options on nightlife, from poolside fun to lively discos and music clubs.

Bodrum features all these activities and many more in a nice package. As well as high developed popular resorts, you can still find relaxing spots around the area.
